Welcome to Nordperspektiv - a long-term development project to strengthen the dialogue between residents and decision-makers in the Nordic region.

The distance between decision-makers and people in the Nordic region is too great. Therefore, Föreningen Norden wants to test and develop new ways to strengthen the voices of northerners and let more people be heard. Through Nordperspectiv, we collect people's thoughts and visions about the future in the Nordics. We then compile parts of the material into an annual publication that we hand over to politicians locally, regionally and nationally.

You can choose between four different areas that affect people and the future in the Nordics. The areas have been selected in consultation with Nordic partners and are based on the Nordic Council of Ministers' action plan "Vision 2030". The vision aims for the Nordic region to become the world's most sustainable and integrated region by 2030.

The areas within this year's Nordperspective are based on people's everyday lives and deal with safety, sustainable lifestyles, work and cultural and nature experiences.

On this platform you can participate in this year's collection. You can submit your contribution individually or together with others, it is entirely up to you. The collection is anonymous.

The meeting place of the future

Do you want to share this text in audio format? Press HERE!

One afternoon, on your way to meet a friend, you pass a poster that piques your interest. On the poster you read about a competition that your municipality and a local real estate company are behind. The competition is part of a newly started Nordic collaboration with the aim of creating meetings and conversations between people about how we can together shape a more inclusive, prosperous and sustainable future. On the poster you read:

"We are looking for you who want to create well-being and inspire others to live more sustainably!

If you could get access to a room for free 24/7 for a year, what would you fill it with? We have several premises waiting to be transformed into welcoming and creative meeting places where people can meet to talk about and learn more about living sustainably. What does our everyday life look like in a more sustainable future? What is wellness to you? How can we together take into account both people, nature and the economy?

We are looking for you who want to develop and test a project in one of our premises. Do you have an exciting idea that has never been tested before? Are you convinced that we need to do more of things that already work? Or do you want to start doing something that we stopped doing a long time ago?

The competition is aimed at private individuals, associations and companies. Your idea can be a business idea, an association activity, an extended living room or something else entirely - you decide!

All ideas are welcome – we look forward to your application!”

Your task is to describe your idea and justify why you should get access to a premises. If you want, you can use one of the following points:

• What type of topic/question do you want to create meetings around? You can choose any of the points below or any topic that you are interested in and think is important. Here are some suggestions:

o Mental well-being

o Sustainable food production and consumption

o Meetings across generational boundaries

o Healthy performance culture in school

o Conscious media use

o Equality and inclusion

• Why do you choose this particular subject? Please motivate!

• Who/who do you want to visit your meeting place?

• Give examples of activities you want to carry out in the room.

• How do you engage people who would not normally be interested in this topic?

• Do you need to collaborate with someone else to make your idea even better?

• Come up with a name for your meeting place that can attract visitors.

The nature and cultural experiences of the future

Do you want to share this text in audio format? Press HERE!

One dark winter morning in 2023, when you are sitting at home eating breakfast, a bright light suddenly shines through your window. Immediately after the strange light, you hear a loud thud. A short time later you are reached by the news that a meteorite has struck a field near where you live. The meteorite turns out to be one of the largest of its kind to land in the northern hemisphere and it is almost as big as a passenger car. Fortunately, neither people, nature nor buildings were harmed.

The rare event creates great interest in the place and attracts visitors from all corners of the Nordic region. You certainly think the meteorite is exciting, but you also think there is much else in your area that is worth showing off to the people who come to visit.

You decide to develop your own business where you offer a unique experience close to where you live. It can, for example, be about nature and outdoor areas or unique cultural experiences and art forms. You want to focus on sustainability and ensure that future generations will also be able to enjoy an experience that means a lot to you.

Your task is to use your imagination and describe the unique natural or cultural experience that you offer in your business. If you want, you can use one of the following points:

• Is there a place you would like to show off to people who came to visit?

• Do you have an idea for an experience that you would like to develop that does not exist today?

• Think about how you could make the experience sustainable. In this case, sustainability is about taking care of social, economic and ecological consequences. Can you ensure that your business leaves as few footprints as possible?

• Which target group(s) (children, young people, adults, elderly?) are you addressing?

• Which other businesses, people or actors would you like to collaborate with?

• Come up with a name for your business that can attract visitors.

The work of the future

You are on your way to the store when your mobile phone rings. When you pick up your phone, you see that you have received an email from a company that works with future intelligence. In the email, the company invites people throughout the Nordics to contribute with their unique experiences and perspectives linked to questions about the future labor market.

In the email you read:

"We want your thoughts on the future labor market and skills in the Nordic region!

The Nordic region is one of the world's oldest regional political collaborations, and for over 70 years there have been cross-border agreements that have made a common labor market possible. But the conditions on the labor market are constantly changing. It is about major trends such as digitization and globalization, but also about how the challenges of recent years with the pandemic have come to limit mobility in the Nordics and forced a change in the way we carry out work.

With these events as a starting point, we now want to look ahead. That is why we have started a collection of people's thoughts and ideas about the future labor market and skills in the Nordics. How can we create a region where companies want to establish themselves, people want to live and universities want to conduct research that creates a common sustainable future?

In our future scouting, we want people's and organizations' unique experiences and perspectives to identify what will be important components for the work of the future.

Contribute your perspective now!”

Your task is to write down your thoughts related to the future labor market from your perspective. If you want, you can use one of the following questions:

• What do you think the workplace of the future will look like? (physical environments, remote work etcetera).

• What do you think the trade union organization of the future will look like?

• Which border obstacles do we need to remove in order to develop labor markets between countries and areas?

• What knowledge and skills do you think will be important in the future labor market?

• How do we ensure a green transition throughout the Nordics?

• How can we develop joint initiatives for lifelong learning in the Nordic region?

Submit your contribution by pressing the plus sign under "Develop this proposal" at the top right and follow the instructions.
